Balance is important and sometimes it is okay to not track and not worry and NOT feel guilty for over indulging (especially if it only happens a couple times a year)! Enjoy yourselves but remember your goals and get right back to them the next day!
I wanted to write a little bit about women thinking they will get bulky from lifting. SO many times I am at the gym I see women (and men) middle aged walking away their life on the treadmill-- don't get me wrong, I walk on that treadmill too after I lift. This applies to all women (men gain muscle mass easier SIMPLY because of their testosterone levels).
I found an incredible article with amazing visuals and breakdowns of training methods. Seriously, one of the best articles I have come across because it doesn't define "bulky" from the dictionary, it defines based an individuals preferences!!! It shows you the thin, just right, thick, too big ALL can lift HEAVY weight but everyone's body type is different and people diet and train differently to reach their goals! It is a little lengthy but nothing extreme-- great read- give it a shot and be PROUD of who you are and how far you have come-- BUT never forget your goals for improvement!
